Admissions
Scholarships & Financial Aid

The USF College of Education is proud to award more than $600,000 in scholarships to our students each year through private funding.
Applying for College of Education Scholarships
The majority of College of Education scholarships are listed on the AwardSpring portal, administered through the OB体育官网 Financial Aid Office. The deadline to apply for scholarships is August 1, 2025鈥攏o extensions will be made. Only admitted students are able to access the AwardSpring portal.
AwardSpring allows students to apply for USF scholarships by completing a brief questionnaire that generates a list of scholarships they may be eligible for based on their responses. Some scholarships consider financial need and require that students complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
All available College of Education scholarships are listed below. If a scholarship is not available on the AwardSpring portal, a PDF application link will be provided directly below the scholarship description. Students are encouraged to carefully review all qualifications and requirements before applying.

Frequently Asked Questions: College of Education Scholarships
Q: When I log into AwardSpring, it says the deadline has passed. Can I still apply?
Yes! While most USF scholarships have closed, College of Education scholarships remain
open until August 1. If you're a College of Education student, simply click the 鈥淎pply鈥
button and you鈥檒l still have full access to AwardSpring.
Q: When will I find out if I鈥檝e been selected for a scholarship?
All applications are reviewed after the August 1 deadline by a committee of College of Education faculty, staff, and leadership. This ensures
every student has a fair and equal opportunity to apply and be considered. All students
will be notified of their status by the end of August.
Q: The scholarship says it has a preference for financial need鈥攈ow is that determined?
Financial need is typically determined using your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) information. However, we encourage all students to apply, regardless of their FAFSA status. Scholarship decisions consider multiple factors,
and you never know how your application may compare to others or what unique circumstances
may set you apart.
Q: I鈥檝e filled out my application, but the 鈥淪ubmit鈥 button is greyed out. What should
I do?
If you requested a letter of recommendation, your application cannot be submitted until your reference submits their letter through
the AwardSpring system. We recommend checking your status daily and reminding your
reference to complete the submission using the provided link.
Q: Do I need to submit a letter of recommendation or upload a r茅sum茅?
It depends on the scholarship. A few scholarships require these documents, and AwardSpring won鈥檛 let you submit without them. Even when optional,
submitting a r茅sum茅 and letter of recommendation is strongly encouraged. Each application is scored by reviewers, and r茅sum茅/recommendation sections count
toward your total score. Not including them could lower your competitiveness.
Q: Are there scholarships for my major or grade level?
Absolutely! There are scholarships for all majors and all levels鈥攆rom undergraduates to graduate and PhD students. You can read through the full list
of scholarships on our website, but the easiest way is to log into AwardSpring. The platform will automatically match you with scholarships you qualify for based
on your student record and a few quick questions.
Q: Can I submit more than one letter of recommendation?
No, the AwardSpring system only allows one letter of recommendation per application. One strong letter is typically sufficient
for review committees.
Q: It's August 2nd and my recommender hasn鈥檛 submitted their letter. Can they email
it?
Unfortunately, no. All letters of recommendation and r茅sum茅s must be submitted through the AwardSpring portal. If your reference hasn鈥檛 uploaded their letter by the August 1 deadline, your best option is to submit your application without it. Late applications will not be considered for 2025鈥2026 scholarships.
