Lisa Hertzner
VOCAL PEDAGOGY

Lisa Hertzner began working at USF in 2025 where she teaches Vocal Pedagogy. She is a versatile vocalist, educator, and performer whose career spans both coasts of the United States. A native of upstate New York, she earned her bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 degrees in Music Education from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, where she also received classical vocal training. She began her career as a choral director at Durant High School in Florida, where she not only developed the school鈥檚 music program but also composed its alma mater. Over the next two decades, she became a fixture in the Tampa Bay music scene, performing jazz standards and original compositions at festivals, sporting events, and on television. Her debut album Introducing Lisa Casalino (2011) featured renowned jazz musicians and marked her emergence as a recording artist, followed by her second album I鈥檓 Old Fashioned (2014), which was launched with a sold-out concert at the Palladium Theater.
In addition to her success on stage and in the studio, Lisa has dedicated much of her life to teaching. After spending several years in Florida classrooms and performance venues, she moved to Los Angeles, where she spent nearly a decade teaching voice at the Musicians Institute and leading choral and musical theater programs at Hollywood High School. Throughout her career, she has combined her passion for music with a deep commitment to education, inspiring students from elementary to college level. As the owner of Casalino Entertainment, she continues to perform professionally, with highlights including singing the national anthem for major league sports teams and starring in musical theater productions. Lisa鈥檚 multifaceted career reflects a lifelong devotion to music, education, and performance.
